Image being able to send your staff an Excel document and get it returned with data for your General Journal. Data from outside sources are usually available in Excel. By using this batch, you can import that data into NAV General Journal.
Clicking on the “Create Template” button will start Excel with a document template.
On each cell in the header line there is an comment that helps with the data format.
Here is a zip file with the source code needed.
Hi Gunnar:
My employer used Navision 2009 classic and I do not find the G/L import in the periodic activities. Is it needed to install or how are we going to set it up.
Regards,
Richard
Hi Richard
This solution is created by me and is not included in standard Dynamics NAV. It is a single report and you will need a available report no. in your license and a license to install reports and change the menu suite.
Regards,
Gunnar
Hi Gunnar:
Thank you for the immediate reply. I downloaded the file which you have created. Thus it mean I need to contact our Navision supplier here in my country so that we can install the file you made?
Hi Richard
This is the propper way to do this. Depending on the contract you have with your NAV supplier, you might be able to use any NAV supporter you like (including me). Please read my copyright page if you have any value from my software.
Regards,
Gunnar
How do you install this file? Also, is there a way you can do this via web service (import GL and provide template name also)? Currently, page unit 39 does not allow to specify a template name. Thanks
Hi Pranav.
This would require a new page or a custom codeunit to handle data validation and number series.
